Mummering is a Christmas time tradition that involves a group of friends or family who dress in disguise and visit homes within the community.  You'll hear a knock on the door, followed by "Any mummers 'allowed in?"  Once inside, they'll dance, sing, play music, and have some fruit cake and refreshments before moving on to the next house.
